Purchasing FAQ
Answers to help you choose products, prepare specifications and plan your order.
How do I choose chilled, frozen or dual-temperature equipment?
Tell us exactly which products you intend to store or display. Mr. Ram can recommend a suitable refrigerated, frozen or dual-temperature configuration.
How do I choose between island freezer styles?
Choose the body style around your available space and display layout. The styles serve the same refrigeration purpose; compare the dimensions and the specified configuration of the models you are considering.
Should I compare overall size, display area or usable capacity?
Use the overall size to check fit, ventilation and aisle space first. Then compare visible display area for merchandising and usable internal capacity for stock. Usable capacity is different from gross volume.
How should I lay out several cabinets in a shop?
Plan customer aisles first, then cabinet orientation and replenishment routes. Allow for door opening and access from the intended sides. Use a scaled layout to check clearances rather than treating one aisle width as suitable for every shop.
Should I choose static or fan-assisted cooling?
Consider the stored product, packaging, opening frequency and maintenance routine. Fan-assisted cooling circulates air; static cooling avoids direct fan airflow. Defrost options depend on the model: our classic combination cabinets can have automatic or manual defrost.
How do I confirm single- or double-compressor configuration?
We state “double compressor” in the quotation when selected. Discuss cabinet size, stock value and temperature-zone needs with us; compressor count alone does not confirm independent refrigeration circuits.
Can the two temperature zones be set independently?
Yes, where the model has independent controls. Confirm that the quotation specifies independent temperature control. Separate compressors and circuits are a distinct configuration that must also be identified.
What information do you need for a hot shop?
Send the indoor ambient temperature, humidity and intended location. Ambient conditions affect operation and energy use. Our classic combination cabinets are intended for indoor use at up to 30°C; we do not currently recommend them outdoors.
How much ventilation and service space is needed?
Do not fit the cabinet tightly against walls or obstruct ventilation. Clearances depend on the model, air inlet and discharge direction. Check the actual installation instructions before fixing the layout or placing units side by side.
How do I check the power supply before connecting a cabinet?
Check the rating label on the rear of the cabinet. Match the stated voltage, frequency and electrical requirements with your supply, and confirm the plug arrangement before ordering.
Can I compare energy consumption figures between models?
Compare model-specific figures measured under the same conditions. Ambient temperature, cabinet temperature, loading, door opening, defrost and stabilisation all affect the result. A test figure is not a guarantee of your shop’s daily consumption.
Should I choose glass doors, sliding lids or open display?
Glass doors suit wall displays and controlled access; sliding lids suit top-access frozen displays; open cabinets suit frequent self-service. Compare access, packaging, temperature needs and energy use for your actual shop.
Can one cabinet suit cakes, fresh meat and deli food?
These products have different temperature, humidity, packaging and hygiene requirements. Keep raw and ready-to-eat products separate. Distinguish chilled deli displays from hot holding, and specify the actual foods before we recommend a cabinet.
Which accessories are included in the quotation?
The quotation lists the included accessories. End cabinets are sold as separate freezer units. For classic combination upper shelves, orders over US$1,500 qualify for free shelves; purchased separately, a shelf is US$35. Confirm the applicable arrangement in your quotation.
When are loading, packaging and spare parts confirmed?
We calculate container loading from the selected models and quantities. Full-container orders use space-saving cartons; LCL shipments use protective export wooden packaging. Spare-parts lists depend on the products supplied.
